Communicate 4.1.2 Rubrics

Rubrics are one of the best ways to effectively communicate the expectations of an assignment with students.  Because a virtual teacher must guide students as autonomous learners, assignments and rubrics must be designed to express the criteria of assignments and the specificity of the evaluation procedure.

To illustrate the importance of rubrics in establishing direction for students, I created a blogging rubric for the Selected Topics Project my APUSH students complete.  Below is a screen shot of the blogging element of the project and its corresponding rubric.  The requirement is that students must compose a series of eight bi-weekly blog posts as their project progresses throughout the semester.
